RIP – RUTH ROBERTS


EXPIRED: 06/30/11 -  Ruth Roberts, 84, was an aspiring songwriter from Port Chester, NY, whose music was covered by Arthur Godfrey, Buddy Holly and the Beatles. She had her 1st published song at the age of 16. But her big claim to fame was achieved in 1962 when she was commissioned to write an upbeat song to drive support for a young baseball team. That song was the now iconic “Meet The Mets.”
