EXPIRED: 09/25/09 – Bob Stupak, 67, finally cashed in his chips. He was called Mr. Las Vegas because he bet $1 million on the ’89 Super Bowl & won. What some people don’t know is that it is thought to be true that he also bet an equal amount of money on the other team.

He also built the futuristic space-themed Stratosphere Tower on the Strip which completely changed the Las Vegas skyline. That wasn’t the best bet, though. He went bankrupt a year later. But he didn’t seem to mind.

As former Las Vegas Mayor Jan Jones said: “If Bob was wrong, he’d admit he was wrong. If he were right he’d tell you 10 times he was right.”
