EXPIRED: 10/06/09 – Bob Westmoreland, 74, was an enigma in Hollywood — a straight man who liked to play with makeup. But boy could he.

Westmoreland did makeup many films and TV shows, including “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,”  “Twilight Zone: The Movie,” “The Long Goodbye,”  “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore,” “Straight Time” and “Stay Hungry,”  “How the West Was Won” and the TV show “Hill Street Blues.”

Being on the set a lot he also snagged some roles in front of the camera, probably because some extra didn’t show up, so he was called on to be the Charter Boat Captain in “The Island,” the referee in “Train Ride to Hollywood” and something called the Load Dispatcher in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” for which he also did great makeup.
