RIP – DICKIE PETERSON

EXPIRED: 10/12/09 – Dickie Peterson, 61, bassist for Blue Cheer, known for thudding, riff-heavy psychedelic rock. In the 60’s they landed in the top 40 with a cover of Eddie Cochran’s “Summertime Blues”, but they wouldn’t be pigeon-holed and were still gigging last summer.

Peterson was living in Germany, struggling with prostate and liver cancer. He developed a fatal infection following a surgical procedure, which finally silenced what he liked to call, “then loudest band in the world.”

  1. bedankt Dickie voor de mooie uurtjes die ik op youtube aan BC gespendeerd heb. “I will realy be pissed off when you’re not here, forty years from now”.
