EXPIRED: 02/17/10 – Giulio deFlorian, 74, was an Italian cross-country skier who competed during the 1960’s, winning two bronze medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, earning one in 1962 in the 30 kilometer and another in 1966 at the 4 x 10 kilometer, where he competed with, among others, friend, teammate and rival Franco Nones.
deFlorian also finished fifth in the 30 kilometer event, behind Nones, at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble.
A native and resident of the Val di Fiemme in Ziano, Trento, Italy, deflorian leaves his wife and two children. During his career, he participated in three Olympic Games: in 1960 in Squaw Valley, in 1964 in Innsbruck, and in 1969 in Grenoble. He also competed in many of the world championships; in 1958 in Lahti, 1962 in Zakopane and 1966 in Oslo.
