EXPIRED: 04/01/10 – John Forsythe, 92, starred in 3 television series, spanning 3 decades, so that without being coy, would really be a dynasty.

And he was always rich, cool, and sly.

He played a single playboy father named Bentley Gregg in the 1950s sitcom Bachelor Father.

Then he played the as unseen millionaire Charles Townsend who owned the 70’s era spy agency Charlie’s Angels, and even though he was only heard through a little speaker – he got beauties to do his dirty work.

And finally he was the ruthless and beloved patriarch Blake Carrington on the 1980s soap opera Dynasty.

What you probably didn’t know about him was that he graduated from high school in Brooklyn at the age of 16 and took a job as the announcer for the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field two years later.

During his retirement he still used to like getting onstage and performing  – so he used to read children’s fiction during the annual Christmas pageant near his home in Solvang, California, just north of Hollywood.
