EXPIRED: 10/17/09 – Vic Mizzy, 93, was neither creepy, kooky, mysterious or spooky. But he probably was a little bit ooky. You had to be to write a song like the theme for the Addams Family TV hit of the 1960’s.
Mizzy didn’t start out aiming to write about a family of ghouls. He began a legit songwriting career penning ditties for Dean Martin, Doris Day, Perry Como and Billie Holiday. But numbers like “With a Hey and a Hi and a Ho-Ho-Ho” left little lasting impression.
